Law No. (24) of 2007

Repealing the

Order Establishing the Department of Civil Aviation[1]

We, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,

After perusal of:

The Decree Establishing the Dubai International Airport Committee, issued on 14 April 1966;

The Order Establishing the Department of Civil Aviation, issued on 18 March 1971;

Law No. (8) of 2006 Establishing the Dubai Aviation City Corporation and its amendments;

Law No. (21) of 2007 Establishing the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority;

Law No. (22) of 2007 Establishing the Dubai Air Navigation Services Corporation; and

Law No. (23) of 2007 Establishing the Dubai Airports Corporation,

Do hereby issue this Law.

Article (1)

Subject to the provisions of the laws cited in the preamble of this Law:

1.       all rights and obligations of the Department of Civil Aviation and the Dubai International Airport, including those pertaining to the land, real property, and facilities owned by or allocated to them, are hereby transferred to the Dubai Aviation City Corporation; and

2.       employees of the Department of Civil Aviation will be transferred to the Dubai Aviation City Corporation, and will retain their existing rights.

Article (2)

The Decree Establishing the Dubai International Airport Committee, issued on 14 April 1966 , and the Order Establishing the Department of Civil Aviation, issued on 18 March 1971, are hereby repealed.

Article (3)

This Law will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force on the day on which it is published.
