Amending Law No. (22) of 2006

Concerning the Traffic Toll in the Emirate of Dubai[1]

We, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,

After perusal of:

Law No. (22) of 2006 Concerning the Traffic Toll in the Emirate of Dubai (the “Original Law”),

Do hereby issue this Law.

Article (1)

Article (13) of the Original Law is hereby superseded by the following:

Article (13)

a.       Without prejudice to any stricter penalty stipulated in any other legislation, any person who violates the provisions of this Law or its implementing bylaw will be punished by a fine of not less than fifty Dirhams (AED 50.00) and not more than ten thousand Dirhams (AED 10,000.00).

b.       The fine may be doubled for any person who repeats the same violation within one (1) year from a previous violation, as may be prescribed by the Executive Council in this respect.

Article (2)

This Law comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
