Concerning
the Appointment of Retirees in
Government
Entities in the Emirate of Dubai[1]

We, Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,
After
perusal of:
Law
No. (28) of 2009 Concerning the Appointment of Retirees in Government Entities
in the Emirate of Dubai (the “Original Law”),
Do hereby issue this Law.
Articles (2) and (4) of the Original Law are hereby superseded by the following:
a. A Retiree may be appointed at any Government Entity, and will be governed
by the human resources legislation applicable to the Employees of such
Government Entity including those relating to promotion.
b. To be reappointed in the same Government Entity from which a Retiree
has been retired, at least one (1) year must have elapsed since his retirement.
A Retiree who is appointed
pursuant to this Law will be paid a monthly remuneration equal to the basic
salary of the grade or military rank on which he is appointed, in addition to
the benefits and bonuses of that grade or military rank. Throughout his service
at the Government Entity, he will not receive the general allowance or similar
allowances, nor will he receive the end-of-service gratuity at the end of his
service.
This
Law comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in
the Official Gazette.
