Forming the

Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid University of

Medicine and Health Sciences[1]

We, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,

After perusal of:

Law No. (7) of 2016 Establishing the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences; and

Decree No. (23) of 2016 Forming the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences,

Do hereby issue this Decree.

Formation of the Board of Trustees

Article (1)

a.     The Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) is hereby formed under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and with the membership of:

1.       Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, as vice chairman;

2.     H.E. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, as member;

3.     H.E. Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, as member;

4.     Mr. Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Shaibani, as member;

5.     Dr. Abdulla Mohamed Al Karam, as member;

6.     Dr. Amer Ahmad Sharif, as member;

7.     Prof. Ian Andrew Greer, as member; and

8.     Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, as member.

Membership of the Board of Trustees will be for a renewable term of three (3) years.

b.    Where the Board of Trustees of the MBRUMHS is not reconstituted upon expiry of the term of membership of the members mentioned in paragraph (a) of this Article, these members will continue to perform their duties until they are reappointed or replaced by new members.

Commencement and Publication

Article (2)

This Decree comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
