Decree No. (1) of 2020

Placing Government Sports Establishments under the

Supervision of the Dubai Sports Council[1]

We, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,

After perusal of:

Law No. (11) of 2009 Concerning the Dubai Sports Council (the “DSC”) and its amendments; and

The legislation establishing and regulating government Sports Establishments in the Emirate of Dubai,

Do hereby issue this Decree.

Supervision by the DSC

Article (1)

a.     As of the date on which this Decree comes into force, all government Sports Establishments, including those established or regulated under specific legislation, are hereby placed under the supervision of the DSC.

b.    This Decree will not apply to the following government Sports Establishments:

1.     the Dubai Equestrian Club;

2.     the Dubai Racing Club;

3.     the Dubai Camel Racing Club; and

4.     any other Sports Establishment determined pursuant to a resolution of the Chairman of the DSC.

Scope of Supervision

Article (2)

The Chairman of the DSC will, pursuant to a resolution he issues in this respect, determine the scope of supervision of government Sports Establishments, and the conditions, rules, standards, and procedures applicable to these establishments.

Repeals

Article (3)

Any provision in any other legislation will be repealed to the extent that it contradicts the provisions of this Decree.

Publication and Commencement

Article (4)

This Decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force on the day on which it is published.
