Approving the Requirements, Standards, and Rules Applicable to
Applicants for Authorisations to Install Supplementary
Information Signs in the Emirate of Dubai[1]

The Director General and Chairman of the Board of
Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority,
After perusal of:
Law No. (17) of
2005 Establishing the Roads and Transport Authority and its amendments;
Executive Council
Resolution No. (23) of 2013 Regulating Supplementary Information Signs on the Roads
of the Emirate of Dubai; and
Administrative
Resolution No. (283) of 2014 Concerning the Requirements and Procedures for Installation
of Supplementary Information Signs in the Emirate of Dubai,
Does hereby issue this Resolution.
The words and expressions mentioned in this Resolution will have the
same meaning assigned to them in the above-mentioned Executive Council Resolution
No. (23) of 2013.
The requirements, standards, and rules that must be met by an applicant
for Authorisation to install a Supplementary Information Sign at any of the relevant designated locations in the Emirate are stated
in the Schedule attached hereto.
The above-mentioned Administrative Resolution No. (283) of 2014 is hereby
repealed. Any provision in any other administrative resolution is also hereby repealed to the extent that it contradicts
the provisions of this Resolution.
This Resolution will be published in the Official Gazette and will come
into force on the day on which it is published.

Police Stations |
The police station

Category III: Cultural Centres, Museums,
Historical Areas, Heritage Buildings, Event Venues, Exhibition and Conference Centres, Parks,
and Libraries |

The centre must be
open to the public throughout the year, with an average of no less than 250 visitors per day |

Museums |
The museum must be
open to the public throughout the year with an average of no less than 250

Historical Areas
and Heritage Buildings |
The historical
areas or heritage building must be open to the public throughout the year and
with an average of no less than 250 visitors per day |
Major Event Venues |
The event venue must have a seating capacity exceeding one thousand (1,000)
seats and designated car parks, and must have an average
number of visitors of more than one thousand (1,000) per day |
International
Exhibition and Conference Centres |
The exhibition or
centre must have an area of at least fifty thousand (50,000) square metres,
and must have food outlets and designated car parks |
Public Parks |
The park must be
open to the public throughout the year, have an area of at least five hundred
thousand (500,000) square metres, and have designated car parks |
Public Libraries |
No requirements |
Category IV: Petrol Stations; Federal and
Local Government Buildings; Universities, Institutes, and Colleges; and Service Centres and Customer
Care Centres |

The petrol station

students of the university, institute, or college must not be less than one

Category V: Hotels and Resorts, Shopping Centres, and Post Offices |

1. The hotel rating must not be less
than five stars and the number of rooms must exceed two hundred and fifty

The floor area of
the centre must be more than fifty thousand (50,000) square metres, excluding
car parks |
Post Offices |
1. The post office must be housed in a stand-alone building 2. The post office must serve more than one area |
Category
VI: Remote Areas |
The entities wishing to install Supplementary
Information Signs in remote areas must satisfy at least twenty-five percent (25%)
of the requirements, standards, and rules prescribed in this Schedule |
Category VII: Development and Investment Projects |

1. The project must have private entrances and clear boundaries 2. The project must be designated for residential, commercial,
industrial, or tourist use 3. The project must have its own addressing and numbering system based on the area in which it is

1. The project must have private entrances and clear boundaries 2. The project must be located on a highway or an arterial Road |
