2026
Concerning the
Booking of Appointments for, and
Provision of, Technical Inspection Services by Vehicle Inspection Centres[1]

The Director General and Chairman of
the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority,
After perusal of:
Law No. (17) of 2005 Establishing the
Roads and Transport Authority (the “RTA”) and its amendments;
Executive Council Resolution No. (8)
of 2008 Establishing the Licensing Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority;
Executive Council Resolution No. (65)
of 2024 Approving the Organisational Structure of the Roads and Transport
Authority; and
Executive Council Resolution No. (1)
of 2026 Regulating the Activity of Technical Inspection of Vehicles in the
Emirate of Dubai,
Does hereby issue this Resolution.
The words and expressions mentioned in
this Resolution have the same meanings respectively assigned to them in the
above-mentioned Executive Council Resolution No. (1) of 2026.
A Centre must provide technical
inspection services, and the other services specified in Article (7) of the
above-mentioned Executive Council Resolution No. (1) of 2026, in accordance
with the relevant appointment-booking system approved by the RTA.
Categories and Cases Exempt from the Requirement to
Book Appointments
Notwithstanding the provisions of
Article (2) of this Resolution, Vehicle technical inspection services may be
provided without a prior appointment in the following cases and to the
following categories:
1.
senior citizens and persons with disabilities;
2.
technical reinspection of a Vehicle following a previously failed
inspection;
3.
technical inspection of Vehicles without number plates, for permanent or
temporary export purposes;
4.
technical inspection of Vehicles for sale purposes; and
5.
technical inspection of Vehicles for the purpose of verifying Vehicle
details.
The Agency will, in coordination with
accredited Centres, announce the procedures for booking appointments for
Vehicle technical inspection services and specify the categories and cases in which
prior Vehicle inspections may be conducted without prior appointment, through
the channels approved by the RTA.
The Chief Executive Officer of the
Agency will issue the instructions required for the implementation of the
provisions of this Resolution.
This Resolution will be published in
the Official Gazette and will come into force on the day on which it is
published.
