Fees for the Reservation of Study Rooms in Public Libraries^{^[1]}

The Director General of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority,

After perusal of:

Law No. (6) of 2008 Establishing the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (the “DCAA”);

Law No. (14) of 2009 Concerning the Pricing of Government Services in the Emirate of Dubai and its amendments;

Law No. (1) of 2016 Concerning the Financial Regulations of the Government of Dubai, its Implementing Bylaw, and their amendments;

Executive Council Resolution No. (78) of 2022 Regulating Public Libraries in the Emirate of Dubai;

Executive Council Resolution No. (116) of 2023 Approving the Organisational Structure of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority; and

The Department of Finance approval letter Ref. DOF/OUT/2023/0002311, dated 12 September 2023,

Does hereby issue this Resolution.

Approval of Fees

Article (1)

a. Pursuant to this Resolution, the fees for the reservation of study rooms in Public Libraries, as set out in the Schedule attached hereto, are approved.

b. The value added tax prescribed by the tax legislation in force in the United Arab Emirates will be added to the fees approved under this Resolution.

c. Where the reservation period for a study room in a Public Library, as specified in the Schedule attached to this Resolution, expires, an extension may be requested by submitting a new reservation request and paying the prescribed reservation fee.

Payment of Fee Proceeds

Article (2)

The proceeds arising from the collection of fees under this Resolution will be paid into the Public Treasury of the Government of Dubai.

Implementation

Article (3)

The Director of the Public Libraries Department at the Arts, Design, and Literature Sector must, in coordination with the concerned organisational units of the DCAA, take the required action for the implementation of this Resolution.

Commencement and Publication

Article (4)

This Resolution comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
