Administrative Resolution No. (1) of 2018

Concerning the Implementation of

Hotel Establishment Classification Criteria in the Emirate of Dubai[1]

The Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing,

After perusal of:

Law No. (1) of 1997 Establishing the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (the “DTCM”) and its amendments;

Law No. (32) of 2015 Concerning the Official Gazette of the Government of Dubai; and

Decree No. (17) of 2013 Concerning Licensing and Classification of Hotel Establishments in the Emirate of Dubai,

Does hereby issue this Resolution.

Implementation of Classification Criteria

Article (1)

The following classification criteria that are prescribed by the DTCM and approved by the Director General of the DTCM will apply to Hotel Establishments in the Emirate of Dubai:

1.     classification criteria for licensing Hotel Establishments;

2.     classification criteria for operating Hotel Establishments; and

3.     other additional classification criteria for Hotel Establishments.

Meeting Classification Criteria

Article (2)

All Hotel Establishments must meet the classification criteria referred to in Article (1) of this Resolution.

Publication of Classification Criteria

Article (3)

The Classification Directorate of the Tourism Activities and Classification Sector of the DTCM must publish the criteria referred to in Article (1) of this Resolution on the official website of the DTCM.     

Publication and Commencement

Article (4)

This Resolution will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force on the day on which it is published.
