Decree No. (7) of 2015
Forming the
Board of Trustees of the British University in Dubai[1]

We, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,
After perusal of:
Law No. (5) of 2003 Establishing the British University in Dubai (the “BUiD”); and
Decree No. (7) of 2011 Appointing the Board of Trustees of the British
University in Dubai,
Do hereby issue this Decree.
a.
The Board of Trustees of the BUiD (the “Board of Trustees”) is
hereby formed under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al
Maktoum, and with the membership of:
1. BUiD Vice
Chancellor, as vice chairman;
2. Hussain Hassan Mirza Al Sayegh, as member;
3. Maitha Mohammed bin Udai, as member;
4. Dr. Yousef Ibrahim Al Akraf, as member;
5. Dr. Khalifa Ali Humaid Al Suwaidi, as member;
6. Simon Moon, as member;
7. a
representative from the British Council in
Dubai and Northern Emirates, as member;
8. a
representative from Emirates National Bank
of Dubai, as member; and
9. a representative from Rolls-Royce International Ltd., as member.
b.
The term of membership of the
Board of Trustees will be three (3) years starting from the effective date of
this Decree.
c.
The representatives of the entities mentioned in paragraph (a) of this
Article will be nominated by the officials in charge of such entities.
d.
Where the Board of Trustees is not reconstituted upon expiry of the term of membership of the members mentioned
in paragraph (a) of this Article, these members will continue to perform their
duties and exercise their powers until they are reappointed or replaced by new
members.
The Board of Trustees will have the duties and powers stipulated in the
Establishing Document and Charter of the BUiD which are attached to the
above-mentioned Law No. (5) of 2003.
This Decree comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will
be published in the Official Gazette.
