Amending

Law No. (22) of 2006 Concerning the

Traffic Toll in the Emirate of Dubai[1]

We, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai,

After perusal of:

Law No. (22) of 2006 Concerning the Traffic Toll in the Emirate of Dubai and its amendments,

Do hereby issue this Law.

Article (1)

Article (3) of the above-mentioned Law No. (22) of 2006 will be superseded by the following:

Article (3)

a.       The RTA will charge motor Vehicle Owners whose Vehicles use the road network of the Emirate and pass through a Traffic Toll Gate in one direction a “Traffic Toll Fee”, whether or not the Vehicle is registered in the Emirate.

b.       The fee referred to in paragraph (a) of this Article will be collected by debit of the User’s account in accordance with the procedures stipulated by the implementing bylaw of this Law.

c.       A motor Vehicle Owner must use the credit in the Traffic Toll Card within five (5) years from the date of the last debit to the balance upon passing through a Traffic Toll Gate or from the date of last top-up of the account, failing which the available balance of the User account will be forfeited.

Article (2)

This Law comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
