Concerning
Payment
for Release of Vehicles Impounded by Dubai Police[1]

We, Hamdan bin
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the
Executive Council,
After perusal of:
Federal Law No. (21) of 1995
Concerning Road Traffic, its Implementing Bylaw, and their amendments;
Law No. (3) of 2003 Establishing the
Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai;
Law No. (35) of 2009 Concerning
Management of the Public Funds of the Government of Dubai;
Regulation No. (7) of 2006
Concerning Road Traffic Control Rules
and Procedures in the Emirate of Dubai; and
Ministerial Resolution No. (127) of
2008 Concerning Road Traffic Control Rules
and Procedures,
Do hereby issue
this Resolution.
1. A
Vehicle impounded pursuant to the provisions of the above-mentioned Ministerial
Resolution No. (127) of 2008 may be released in return for
the
payment of one hundred Dirhams (AED 100.00) for a light Vehicle,
or two hundred Dirhams (AED 200.00) for a heavy Vehicle, per
each day of the impoundment period or of the remaining days thereof.
2. Where
the owner of an impounded vehicle fails to reclaim the Vehicle by the end of
the impoundment period, he must pay fifty Dirhams (50.00 Dirhams) per each
day of stay of the Vehicle in the impoundment area after the lapse of that
period.
The payments stipulated in
Article
(1) of this Resolution for release of impounded Vehicles will be deemed as local Revenue and will be paid to
the Public Treasury of the Government of Dubai.
Regulation
No. (7) of 2006 Concerning Road Traffic Control Rules
and Procedures in the Emirate of Dubai is hereby repealed.
This
Resolution will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force
on the day on which it is published.
