Council Resolution No. (19) of 2007
Prohibiting
the Use of Farms as Labour
Accommodation
in the Emirate of Dubai[1]

We, Hamdan
bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Executive Council,
After perusal of:
Law No. (3) of 2003 Establishing the
Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai;
The Order issued by His Highness the
Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai on 20 September 1994 Concerning Land Plots
Granted to the UAE Nationals by the Government in the Emirate of Dubai;
The Instructions issued by His
Highness the Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai on 20 September 1994 Concerning Land
Plots Granted to the UAE Nationals by the Government in the Emirate of Dubai;
and
The Order issued by His Highness the Chairman
of Dubai Municipality on 16 July 1991,
Do hereby
issue this Resolution.
Pursuant to this Resolution, all owners of the farms granted to
the UAE nationals in the Emirate of Dubai will be prohibited from leasing or using
such farms as labour accommodation.
Where the use of farms as labour accommodation is verified, the Dubai
Municipality and the Land Department are hereby charged with taking the required
action to revoke the grant of ownership of land from violators. For this
purpose, the Dubai Municipality and the Land Department may seek the assistance
of police personnel.
This Resolution will be published in the Official Gazette and will
come into force on the day on which it is published.
