Resolution No. (6) of 2004

Approving the Fees for Surgical Procedures Performed at the

Hospitals of the Department of Health and Medical Services[1]

We, Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, President of the Department of Health and Medical Services,

After perusal of:

The powers legally vested in Us pursuant to the Order Establishing the Department of Health and Medical Services (the “DHMS”), issued on 13 October 1970;

Administrative Resolution No. (94) of 2002 Regulating the Medical Treatment of Employees of the Department of Health and Medical Services, issued on 2 July 2002; and

The presentation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DHMS,

Do hereby issue this Resolution.

Article (1)

Pursuant to this Resolution, the fees for the surgical procedures performed at the DHMS hospitals, as stated in the Schedule attached hereto, are approved.

Article (2)

The fees set forth in the Schedule referred to in the preceding Article will be collected from non-UAE nationals, whether or not they hold health cards. Nevertheless, the DHMS employees to whom the above-mentioned Administrative Resolution No. (94) of 2002 applies are exempt from payment of these fees.

Article (3)

The fees set forth in the Schedule attached hereto do not include the charges for equipment, instruments, and other supplementary medical materials used in surgical procedures.

Article (4)

The Chairman of the DHMS Board of Directors is vested with the power to amend or cancel any item of the list of surgical procedures in the Schedule attached to this Resolution and the fees prescribed for each of these procedures; or introduce new services and fees.

Article (5)

Any previous resolutions or instructions will be repealed to the extent that they contradict the provisions of this Resolution.

Article (6)

This Resolution comes into force one (1) month after the date on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette. The Director General of the DHMS will issue the bylaws required for the implementation hereof.
